Stoke City Ladies 3 Leicester City Ladies 1

Stoke City started the game brightly and after only five minutes Leicester City Ladies goalkeeper Lucy Clarke pulled off a fantastic double save.
Stoke City continued to push forward and a through ball on ten minutes caught the Leicester City Ladies defence square and the Stoke City winger finished her chance well to make it 1-0.
Stoke City continued to create chances and dominate all over the pitch the only bright point was that Lucy Clarke was having an outstanding game for Leicester City Ladies between the sticks.
On thirty four minutes Leicester City Ladies won a free kick on the edge of the Stoke City penalty area, Erica Preston squared to Ashleigh Bingham who rattled the crossbar, Heather Fyffe followed in with a header but the keeper saved.
Leicester City Ladies created one more chance before half time with Erica Preston putting Sarah Marshall through on goal who hit a shot early which clipped the outside of the post.

Half Time 1-0

Leicester City Ladies considered themselves lucky to go in only 1-0 down at half time and started the second half a lot brighter.
Within five minutes a great passing move ended in a good shot from Leicester City Ladies Erica Preston going just over the bar.
The game was now quite open with Stoke City continuing to look dangerous on the break and when Leicester City Ladies gave away a free kick on the edge of the area they again had goalkeeper Lucy Clarke to thank for making a good save.
On fifty five minutes Stoke City did double their advantage with a quick break leading to a good goal.
Leicester City Ladies pulled a goal back within minutes, Molly Waldron won the ball on the half way line, played it out wide to Jodie White who crossed into Sarah Marshall who laid it back for Annie Rudkin to place the ball in the bottom corner.
Leicester City Ladies began to push players forward in search of an equaliser but where hit by a Stoke City counter attack on seventy five minutes who scored a well taken third goal.

Final Score 3-1

Leicester City Ladies FC v Loughborough Foxes FC

Leicester City Ladies started the game brilliantly and found themselves 2-0 up after only 15 minutes.
Firstly on 3 minutes a great knock into the box by ‘Sugs’ was met by ‘Marshy’ who looped the ball over the stranded Loughborough Foxes goalkeeper.
The second goal came on 12 minutes when a cross-field ball from Jodie White was met by Lindsey Tugby who showed great pace and then finished brilliantly giving the keeper no chance.
Loughborough Foxes upped their game and began to gain more possession, looking dangerous when going forward.
They pulled a goal back on 20 minutes when Leicester City Ladies gave the ball away in midfield, leaving Loughborough Foxes with a break, which they took full advantage off, despite the efforts of Leicester goalkeeper Lucy Clarke.
Loughborough Foxes were level on 32 minutes when a hopeful ball through caught the Leicester City Ladies defence napping and the right-winger finished into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Loughborough Foxes now had the upper hand and had chances to go into half time with the lead.

Half Time 2-2

Leicester City Ladies started the second half slowly and gave Loughborough Foxes far too much possession.
Leicester City Ladies were unlucky not to take the lead when a great strike from the edge of the box from Jodie White hit the outside of the post.
Leicester City Ladies were again guilty of giving possession away on the halfway line allowing Loughborough Foxes to break down the right hand side, a shot across goal was saved by Lucy Clarke but the rebound was an easy tap in for the Loughborough Foxes striker to give her team the lead on 70 minutes.
Leicester City Ladies Jodie White came up with the equaliser on 75 minutes with an unstoppable 30-yard strike.
Leicester City Ladies began to push forward believing the game was there to be won. 5 minutes later good work from Lindsey Tugby on the left hand side ended in a free kick to Leicester City Ladies on the edge of the box. Erica Preston stepped up with confidence and gave Leicester City Ladies the lead with a superb strike into the top corner.
The game was far from won with Loughborough Foxes always looking dangerous on the break.
As the final whistle approached Leicester City Ladies began to keep possession well and push forward for another goal which came on 85 minutes when substitute Molly Waldron delivered a fantastic cross into the box which was expertly headed home by striker Jodie White.

Full Time 5-3

Both teams started the game brightly and were battling for every ball. Radcliffe Olympic used the physical aspect of their game to their advantage and used the pace of their forward players to cause Leicester City Ladies problems.
The first half remained goalless with Radcliffe Olympic looking more likely to score.

Half Time 0-0

The second half also began very evenly with both teams battling for possession. Leicester City Ladies went a goal down halfway through the second half when a very harsh penalty decision was given against them. The Radcliffe Olympic striker coolly placing the penalty in the bottom corner.

Leicester equalised soon after when a free kick from just inside the Radcliffe Olympic half was flicked on by Erica Preston into the path of striker ‘Marshy’ who finished brilliantly past the oncoming goalkeeper.

It didn’t take Radcliffe Olympic long to take the lead again when a shot was fumbled by Leicester City Ladies goalkeeper Lucy Clarke leaving an easy finish at the far post.

Leicester City Ladies started the game brightly and quickly got used to the rubber crumb surface, putting some good attacking moves together.
TNS the started to get into the game and played some nice quick football which with their movement off the ball caused Leicester City Ladies lots of problems.
Leicester City Ladies had a chance to open the scoring when a through ball from Erica sent Marshie through on gaol, but the keeper made a good save.
TNS then begin to pile the pressure on the Leicester City Ladies goal and had numerous chances to take the lead, on 40 minutes they did just that, a cross into the box brought a great tackle from ‘H’ but unfortunately the ball fell to a TNS player who scored from close range.
Leicester City Ladies fought back and equalised on the stroke of half time when Kim picked the ball up on the half way line, played it out wide to Marshie who squared for Erica to finish from the edge of the box.

Half Time 1 – 1

Both team started the second half well and were both pushing forward looking for the 2nd goal. On 76 mins TNS took the lead when a long ball caused confusion between the Leicester City Ladies goalkeeper and her defence that allowed the striker to nip in and score.
Leicester City Ladies continued to battle and look for an equaliser and were awarded a penalty when a cross from Jodie on the right bobbled up and hit the TNS defender on the arm. Marshie stepped up and blasted the ball straight down the middle of the goal.

The 1st ten minutes were a very even affair with both teams trying to find their feet. With 15 minutes gone Coventry City broke down the right hand side and a cross to the back post was volleyed in off the cross bar.
Coventry City took the momentum of the 1st goal and doubled their lead shortly after when a corner to the front post took a deflection and looped over Lucy’s Head. It wasn’t long before Coventry City scored again when the referee awarded a harsh penalty which was easily tucked away.
Half Time 0-3
Leicester City Ladies started the second half much better and were gaining more possession. Leicester City Ladies created some half chances but never really looked like getting a goal. Coventry City got their 4th and final goal on 85 minutes when a break down the right caused confusion in the Leicester City Ladies defence ending up with the ball in the back of the net.
Full Time 0-4
Leicester City Ladies: L.Clarke, C.Glover, C.Stephens, K.Walton, H.Fyfe, A.Bingham, A.Rudkin, J.Sugarman, L.Tugby, J.White, S.Marshall.

Leicester City Ladies started the game brightly with striker Jodie White getting in behind the defence and putting a couple of good crosses into the danger area early on. Wolves Ladies began to come more into the game and their passing and movement off the ball started to trouble Leicester City Ladies. It wasn’t long before Wolves Ladies took the lead with a well taken goal. Leicester City Ladies were struggling to put any moves together and were giving the ball away all over the pitch. Wolves Ladies doubled their advantage before half time when a Leicester City Ladies counter attack broke down high up the pitch, a long ball put the Wolves Ladies striker through on goal and she made no mistake.

Half Time – Leicester City Ladies 0 Wolves Ladies 2

Leicester City Ladies came out fighting in the second half and were determined to get something out of the game. Half way through the second half Sarah Marshall replaced Claire Stephens up front and Ashleigh Bingham replaced Molly Waldron at right midfield. The change of personnel seemed to perk Leicester up and a good move down the right hand side involving Ashleigh Bingham and Sarah Marshall resulting in the later crossing for Lindsey Tugby to open the scoring for Leicester City Ladies.
The goal gave Leicester City Ladies the confidence to push forward more and the game became very open with both teams creating chances.
Leicester City Ladies were awarded a free kick just inside the penalty area in the dying moments of the game and Erica Preston made sure Leicester City Ladies went away with a point drilling the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net.

Sporting Albion took the lead early in the first half when Leicester City Ladies goalkeeper Lucy Clarke punched the ball out from a corner, only for it to drop to the feet of a Sporting Albion player leaving her with an easy finish.
Leicester City Ladies rode their luck at times with Sporting Albion having the main share of possession and having chances to increase their lead.
25 minutes into the first half Leicester pulled a goal back when Annie Rudkin won the ball on the halfway line, played a one two with Sarah Marshall and then feed the ball into the path of Kim Walton who coolly slotted the ball home.
This goal gave Leicester City Ladies the impetus and they had a good 10 minute spell, playing some nice football. Unfortunately Leicester didn’t remain on level terms for long, a long ball over the top caught Leicester’s defence square and the Sporting Albion made it 2-1 despite the efforts of Goalkeeper Lucy Clarke.

Half Time – Sporting Albion 2 – 1 Leicester City Ladies

Leicester City Ladies started the 2nd half brightly but found themselves another goal behind when they were hit on the break by Sporting Albion. Leicester City Ladies nearly got a goal back after a great break out of defence with Jenny Sugarman and Sarah Marshall playing some nice football resulting in a shot just over the bar.
Sporting Albion were now dominating the game, having all the possession and playing some great football, they added a further 2 goals before the full time whistle.
Leicester City Ladies battled hard but were outplayed by a good Sporting Albion side who will be a force to be reckoned with during the coming season.

Full Time – Sporting Albion 5 -1 Leicester City Ladies

Team: L.Clarke, B.Poppleton, K.Walton, H.Fyfe, L.Quinn, L.Tugby, A.Rudkin, E.Preston, A.Bingham, J.Sugarman, S.Marshall. Subs: M.Woldron, C.Stephens, T.
