Another Lions win after long break

On a heavy pitch Westfield Wanderers started well with some nice passing but Leicester City Ladies Lions looked dangerous on the break. This proved to be the case when after ten minutes “CC” collected the ball on the half way line, ran through the Westfield Wanderers defence and slid the ball home to give Leicester City Ladies Lions the lead.
Westfield Wanderers responded well and a good move down the right culminated in a shot hitting the post and Leicester City Ladies Lions goalie Sadie doing well to save the follow up.
The second half remained tight until Minty finished a fine Leicester City Ladies Lions move involving “Mop”, Sophie and Jamie by slotting the ball home from a tight angle to double the lead.
The game was now opened up with Toyah and “Mini” working hard in defence for Leicester City Ladies Lions and Westfield Wanderers goalie was kept busy at the other end.
Five minutes from the end Leicester City Ladies Lions secured all three points when “CC” received the ball from “Minty” and lobbed the goalie to make it 3-0.
