Firsts Bounce Back

Leicester City Ladies bounced back from midweek defeat at home to tough opposition in Curzon Ashton, a side who on their away travels this year they have beaten Stoke and Radcliffe so this was always going to be a tough encounter.
It was a tight game all round and it needed something special to open up the game up and Kyleigh Brant provided that with a superb 25 yard strike which flew into the top corner. Curzon Ashton battled hard and carved out a few nervous moments for the home side who themselves had numerous chances as Kilby was on top form providing some superb deliveries which City just couldn’t make the most of.
Second half concentration was the key and Leicester City Ladies gave themselves a great start as on 54 minutes Sam Clarke rounded off a great move to score in the near top corner with a fine finish. The second period also saw Remi Allen take the field and many were there to see City’s new addition and of course the current group of players who have been outstanding so far and who were once again today. Hillier could of made it three with a header late on but the victory was already secure.
Next week Leicester City Ladies travel to Daventry Town who themselves have picked up some valuable points recently in the relegation battle and will no doubt prove tough opposition.
