Firsts Reach County Cup Final

Leicester City Ladies bounced back from last weeks disappointing FA Cup defeat to reach the final of the County Cup with a four nil victory over Friar Lane.
The semi final was played at Oadby & Wigston’s ground in very tough weather conditions and on a poor playing surface both teams played a part in a good match.
The first half was very scrappy with both teams providing little clear cut chances, the pitch, the wind and rain all contributed.
Leicester City Ladies started to get the advantage but the half ended scoreless.
The second half started with Leicester City Ladies on top and Sarah Marshall opened the scoring after 55 minutes.
Friar Lane came back into the game and had a few decent chances but Leicester City Ladies doubled their lead on 65 minutes through Gemma Ball.
Further goals from a Sugarman free kick and White from close range rounded of a successful second half for Leicester City Ladies.
Leicester City Ladies showed real patience in trying to create openings in such conditions and that really paid off with another clean sheet and confidence gaining victory.
Leicester City Ladies are now 90 minutes away from ending the season with a trophy.
