Semi Final Place Booked

Leicester City Ladies moved into the semi finals and kept the unbeaten run going away to local rivals Loughborough Foxes.
The home team took the lead from slack defending at a set play from City. Good work down the left from Hillier who crossed a ball for skipper Kilby to equalise from a header six yards out. Soon Hillier was in the action again and a superb individual goal running at the right back before cutting in a hitting a curling shot high and wide of the goalkeeper into the top corner made it two and City were 2-1 up at the interval and playing some decent football although frustrating at times.
Leicester City Ladies were much better second half in their play and were soon 3-1 from a Tori Allen through ball which Hillier finished well with her left foot high into the net. All Leicester City Ladies players were now involved in the play and Bateman, Brant and Hillier were causing problems in behind. Hillier was soon in the box again and she turned in a simple tap in from a Guyler cross. There was time for one more for City and for Hillier and another Allen through ball this time from Reva that Hillier finished low and hard into the near corner. It could of maybe been a couple more for City but 5-1 rounded off an effective afternoon for the away team.
Overall cup games are about getting through but Leicester City Ladies showed a good display to go with it especially in the second half. It’s been a very good start for City who travel to Copeswood Wednesday evening which will no doubt be a tougher encounter .
