Vital Three Points

Leicester City Ladies welcomed Oadby Owls who we had already beaten in the opening game of the season in the under 12s league.
Leicester City Ladies found out very early on in the game that Oadby Owls were in a determined mood and they made everything hard work for Leicester with some good defending.
Leicester City Ladies did play some nice football and created some half chances but lacked the cutting edge in front of goal. Leicester City Ladies looked comfortable in defence with Megan and Shania clearing up any danger and starting attacks with some nice passes out off defence. Leicester City Ladies had the majority of the first half possession but failed to capitalize on this, despite their best efforts.
Half Time 0-0
The second half started much the same with Leicester City Ladies trying to create chances but once again Oadby Owls defended brilliantly and denied Leicester any clear shots at goal. Leicester City Ladies continued to work hard but things just were not going their way. Leicester City Ladies had to be alert as Oadby Owls were stringing together some counter attacks and goalkeeper Viv made a vital save to keep Leicester in the game. Leicester City Ladies continued to push forward and both Ciara and Foxy were unlucky not to open the scoring. With only two minutes left on the clock, Leicester City Ladies finally got their goal and it came from a good cross by Shania which was finished off at the back post by Molly.

Leicester City Ladies manager Annie Rudkin commented after the game “This was a tough game for the girls today but I am proud of the resilience they showed to come out with the win. They never gave up and battled until the end. Credit must go to Oadby Owls who played really well today, they should be proud of their performance.”
