Firsts FA Cup Victory

Leicester City Ladies secured their place in the next round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 away win at Coventry Copeswood.
For the neutral it was an entertaining game, a very open expansive game displayed a typical FA Cup game.
It took Leicester City Ladies a while to get into the tie which was no supirse after three weeks without a game due to the weather conditions.
The game was very end to end and it was Leicester City Ladies who took their chance to take the lead, good work from Walton to get into box and a pull back to Preston who fired home on 25 minutes.
Leicester City Ladies held this time until half time and second half was much more like the first team in recent weeks, a much better organised and football display kept Leicester City Ladies on the front foot.
There were a few scares but stand in keeper Sian Crewe and the back four were immense. This platform kept Leicester City Ladies going forward and Jodie White sealed the game on 75 mins when she drove into the box and finished across the keeper to earn a place in the next round against rivals Leicester City Women.
Overall Copeswood played well and on a different day may have found Citys net, but Leicester City Ladies second half performance was encouraging and another win was great to see.
Leicester City Ladies have now won five games on the bounce and not conceeded a goal for four of those, great credit goes to the first team
