Solid Victory

21396703142_10777ec6ba_mIn their second league game of the season it was Leicester City Ladies who came away with the points with a 3-0 win over Asfordby Amateurs.
It was Leicester City Ladies who started off on the attack with Millie hitting the post. Midway through the first half Tallulah played a brilliant pass to Keira who stayed calm and placed the ball passed the keeper to put Leicester City Ladies 1-0 up.
Asfordby Amateurs had a chance to level the game but the Leicester City Ladies keeper Charlotte kept the ball out the net and then the defence managed to clear it.
Half time came with the score still at 1-0 and all to play for.
At the start of the second half Leicester City Ladies continued to attack with Tallulah, Millie and Remi forcing saves from the excellent Asfordby Amateurs keeper.
Midway through the 2nd half saw Remi intercept a pass and score, doubling Leicester City Ladies lead. With the game looking like it was done, Millie claimed a well-deserved goal firing it into the bottom corner of the net to give Leicester a 3-0 lead and secure the points.
Special shout out to Charlotte for keeping her first clean sheet of the season and Millie and Kiera for getting their first goals for the club.

County Cup Victory

21396703142_10777ec6ba_mA huge well done to Leicester City Ladies Under 12s who won their first competitive game together this Sunday in the first round of the County Cup.
After their first league game was postponed, they welcomed Hinckley AFC Juniors U12 Girls to Linwood Playing Fields. Both teams started the game with great enthusiasm but it was Leicester City Ladies who took the lead with Ellie scoring two great goals in the first half. Leicester looked dangerous on the attack and could easily have been further ahead at the break.
The second half started off a little shaky for the home side, with Hinckley scoring within the first ten minutes. There were some great changes from both teams, but some great saves were pulled off from both goalkeepers to keep their teams in the game. In the final ten minutes the tension was unbearable for coaches and spectators alike, with Hinckley very close to equalising in the final few minutes.
A huge well done to all of the players for brilliant individual performances all round and a huge thankyou to all parents and families for their support.
Final Score: Leicester City Ladies 2 – 1 Hinckley AFC Juniors
Man of the Match as voted by parents deservedly goes to goalkeeper Charlotte for an excellent performance.
