County Cup Victory

21396703142_10777ec6ba_mA huge well done to Leicester City Ladies Under 12s who won their first competitive game together this Sunday in the first round of the County Cup.
After their first league game was postponed, they welcomed Hinckley AFC Juniors U12 Girls to Linwood Playing Fields. Both teams started the game with great enthusiasm but it was Leicester City Ladies who took the lead with Ellie scoring two great goals in the first half. Leicester looked dangerous on the attack and could easily have been further ahead at the break.
The second half started off a little shaky for the home side, with Hinckley scoring within the first ten minutes. There were some great changes from both teams, but some great saves were pulled off from both goalkeepers to keep their teams in the game. In the final ten minutes the tension was unbearable for coaches and spectators alike, with Hinckley very close to equalising in the final few minutes.
A huge well done to all of the players for brilliant individual performances all round and a huge thankyou to all parents and families for their support.
Final Score: Leicester City Ladies 2 – 1 Hinckley AFC Juniors
Man of the Match as voted by parents deservedly goes to goalkeeper Charlotte for an excellent performance.

Hard Work Rewarded

pic1After losing in their first friendly Wednesday night to Coalville, the u12s worked hard in training ahead of their next friendly against Desford. This could be seen on the pitch as they pulled together to play some promising football. Following a steady first five minutes, the girls’ confidence grew and their teamwork was rewarded with a goal from Ellie. Creating many chances throughout the game, Tallulah scored the second and third goals with Remi getting the fourth to complete a brilliant individual performance. Desford were able to break on the counter attack a few times throughout the game but these were dealt with by some great defending. Any shots they did have were dealt with comfortably by keeper Charlotte. Well done to all of the girls for their hard work.
Final score: Leicester City Ladies 4-0 Desford Girls
Man of the Match: Remi
