Inclusive at the Home of the Premier League Champions

Monday May the 9th was a fantastic day of Inclusive Football at the King Power Stadium. Philippa Bass at the Leicestershire & Rutland County F.A. invited Special Educational Needs Schools and Groups of players to attend a football festival in the morning and the afternoon saw over 150 Adult players taking part in a 6 a side Inclusive Football Festival. Leicester City Woodgate joined in the games with around 50 of our Adult players  in attendance. Our teams really enjoyed playing some new opposition from QPR & West Brom alongside their regular opponents, Northampton Town and Teams from Leicestershire.
Kevin Friend, FA Premier League referee was in attendance to ensure all players adhered to the Laws of the Game, showing only a couple of Red Cards throughout the day (in fun I am pleased to say!).
Leicester City Legends Emily Heskey and Snooker World champion Mark Selby  were also on hand to watch the players showing off their skills and having the odd photo or 2! before helping to present medals to every player that was in attendance.
It was another fantastic football event in our Inclusive Calendar for this season, can’t get much better than being allowed to play at the King Power, not long after LCFC were crowned Championees!! an Honour for all the players and volunteers that attended. Many Thanks go out to Philippa Bass and the team at the LRCFA for organising matches for around 300 players on the day.
Leicester City Woodgate Teams Ladies and Men had a great day and really enjoyed their football, great to seeing so many players enjoying themselves in a fun and friendly environment.
Leicester City Woodgate is always looking for new players to join our Inclusive Football for players with additional needs or a disability, players from 6-16 for our Juniors & Youth and players from 16 years plus to join our Adults section, both males and females are invited to come along and be a Club member.
