This was a game that could have gone either way but with Leicester City Ladies looking for their third straight win were never going to just sit back.

The game started very quickly with both teams looking for an early goal, it was Ibstock who look the more likely with numerous early chances on goal. At time Leicester struggled to clear their defensive lines which could of easily gifted Ibstock with an a goal or two but were denied thanks to some outstanding goal keeping from Tillie. As the game went on Ibstock continued to test Leicester’s defence and at times all their players defending which saw Leicester struggle to make any kind of counter attack. Leicester at time struggled to pass the ball around as Ibstock were very tight in midfield and closed Leicester down very quickly with Leicester only had a few opportunity’s on goal the best one coming from Madison who had long range shot denied by Ibstocks’s keeper who didn’t really see much of it till it was upon her she did well it push it over the bar. Ibstock again went on to pressure Leicester’s defence and keeper who stayed strong through the remainder of the half which kept them in the game.

HALF TIME Ibstock Sirens 0 – 0 Leicester City Ladies

Leicester City Ladies took the half time break to regroup and get themselves together and came out for the restart looking for the win, but unfortunately got a little harder as Leicester Ladies conceded only minutes into the second half, Ibstock drove the ball low and hard towards the front post and with some goal mouth confusion Ibstock had an easy tap in score 1-0. From that point on Leicester really had the bit between their teeth and took the game to Ibstock and went close to scoring a few times. The equalizer for Leicester came just over 10 minutes later when the ball come into the box from a Leicester corner it was cleared but alone about 6 yards right to the feet of Madeleine who struck the ball well and it just crept under there keeper. With the score now one a piece you could just tell there were more goals to come with chances being had by both teams. Leicester broke from midfield with some great one touch passing between Madison, Paige and Madeleine but Ibstock force the play wide and Leicester were awarded a corner. The corner was wiped in by Madison and it landed right on the keeper but there seemed to be some confusion and the ball was turned in by an Ibstock player an own goal by Ibstock unlucky for them but a massive boast for Leicester Ladies. The score now at 1-2 the Ibstocks head seemed to drop slightly with their chances just being wild shots at times. The confidence of Leicester Ladies just seem to be growing throughout the game and was strengthen by a sweet strike from Paige scoring Leicester’s third making it now 1-3. As the game was during to an end the Ibstock player started to switch off and they were conceding a lot of free kicks With Paige an Madison taking the full force of some them. In the final minutes of the game Madison collected the ball from a long throwing taken by Alanya, Madison was allowed to run with ball down the line and towards the Ibstock goal with some ease and a simple pass was made across goal where Paige arrived at the back post for a simple tap in and her second of the game.

This was a tough game but with that said there was some good football played by both teams. It also showed that Leicester Ladies stayed strong and positive and were rewarded with a very good win. It’s another 3 points for the Leicester City Ladies which moves them up to ninth in the league.

Leicester City Ladies were looking to continue their performance from last week’s game. What a game this was it was a complete goal fest.
Leicester City Ladies had a shocking start to the game with conceding 2 goals within the first few minutes, which soon woke Leicester up to realise Harborough Town were not a team to be taken lightly. Leicester City Ladies soon stepped it up a gear with some outstanding passing from there mid-fielders Paige, Madeleine and sticker Madison. With Harborough Town starting well defensively and with 10 minutes gone Leicester City Ladies were patent and they were rewarded with their first goal courtsey of Madison score now 1-2. Leicester City Ladies were now on the hurt for the equalizer and it came within 2 minutes of the restart and it was a very well worked second goal for Leicester’s Madison which involved some good fast football from Leicester’s midfielders Paige, Sophie and Madeleine. Harborough Town were still pressing with good affect having several chances on goal which tested both Leicester City Ladies defenders Katie and Alanya as well as goal keeper Tillie. Fifteen minutes through the first half Leicester City Ladies conceded a corner, which Harborough took full advance of driving the ball low and hard into the near post which sent some confusion through the Leicester defence and a goal mouth scramble ended in the ball being carried over the line despite the best efforts of keeper Tillie, score now 2-3. Leicester City Ladies now went on the offensive throwing everything at Harborough in the last 5 minutes by scoring 3 goals in quick concession all courtesy of Madisont who at half time had 5 goals and would be looking for another to secure a double hat-trick.

The second half started just as lively as the first finished with Leicester City Ladies attacking the Harborough Town defence at every given chance and it wasn’t long before Madison scored for Leicester thus securing her second hat-trick of the game. Harborough Town never sat back they also continued to pass the ball around well and tested Leicester’s defence. Minutes after the restart Harborough caught Leicester on the counter attack and took opportunity with both hands by scoring an easy goal score now 6-4. Both teams were battling hard for it in midfield, 15 minute into the second half Leicester’s midfield work really well together to create some good link up play between them which released Paige to score her first goal of the game score now 7-4. On the restart Harborough ran at Leicester’s defence but they stayed strong but then lost the just out the box and again Harborough pressed and come away with a very well worked goal, score now 7-5. Now in the last 5 minutes of the game and both team were still looking for goals, Leicester keeper pulled off some outstanding saves to deny Harborough. A good clearance from Tillie released sticker and sister Madison who took on Harborough defenders to score her seventh goal of the game.

A very enjoyable game with lots of action and plenty of goals, unlucky for Harborough as they played right up to the end never giving up.
Leicester’s over all game was outstanding with some good passing for the whole team. A second good win for Leicester City ladies and another 3 points moving them slowly up the league table.
