City Extend Home Unbeaten Run

After a thrilling 4-4 draw to round off 2012 at Loughborough Students Leicester City Ladies were held again this time by a much improved Rotherham side.
With key players missing and fresh ideas on board Leicester City Ladies stumbled but kept their unbeaten record at home which almost extends one full calendar year in all competitions.
Rotherham started the brighter but it was City who took the lead when Hillier finished after a fine pass from Edwards. The visitors were back level in controversial fashion when Leicester keeper Cat seemed to have the ball in her hands when the Rotherham striker bundled it in the goal from a set play, although unlucky no doubt Rotherham deserved to be level.
Cat had to be lively in the second half and pulled off a fine save as well as Gemma Ball clearing off the line for the home side. It was not until later on that City started to carve out more chances and may have been awarded a late penalty on another day but that would of been harsh on Rotherham who probably feel they deserve all three.
On the day there was no doubt in City’s work rate but quality lacked and a point and staying unbeaten at home is satisfactory. Also it keep the chasing pack still 6 points clear of City as they are firmly secured in the top four shake up.
