First Team Christen New Pitch With Win

Christening their new home pitch Leicester City Ladies secured back to back league wins for the first time this season with victory over Wolves.
The first half was extremely even with both teams trying to play football and find openings, it looked like both teams may cancel each other out.
Leicester City Ladies did not create many clear chances, the best one of the half fell to
the Wolves number 9 who with a fine volley brought a superb save diving to her right from goalkeeper “Beana”.
Second half Wolves started the better and gave Leicester City Ladies a few early
scares and a goal line clearance kept it at 0-0.
Leicester City Ladies then started to look the more likely team to win, playing a lot more positively. Although there was not a lot of clear cut chances in the game Leicester City Ladies went close when Erica Preston forced a fine save from the Wolves goalkeeper with a strike from twenty yards out. Within ten minutes another chance came Leicester City Ladies way, good hold up play from
Marshall whose through ball found Walton who lifted the ball beyond the advancing goalkeeper into the net to give Leicester City Ladies the lead.
Leicester City Ladies then had to defend well for the rest of the game, and brave defending paid
off as Leicester City held on to their lead and earned a great three points against third place Wolves.
Overall not much between the two teams but Leicester City Ladies took their chance when it
came and it was followed by a great team performance.
