Firsts Bounce Back

After the disapointment of leaving the FA Cup at the first round stage last Sunday Leicester City Ladies bounced back in fine fashion against local rivals Loughborough Foxes.
The game was turned on his head however after Leicester City Ladies had a player sent off for handball on the line and Loughborough Foxes took the lead from the resulting penalty and now the home team had 70 minutes to play with ten players. Amanda Whalley responded however as her cross turned shot deflected into the Foxes net. The away team then grew in confidence and took the lead again before Hillier kept up City’s fight to make it 2-2 at the interval.
The second half started in quick fashion, Loughborough Foxes 3-2 up inside 1 minute and City level through captain Kilby with five minutes of the restart. Leicester City Ladies were showing a determined performance with a player less and soon their efforts were rewarded as Brant on the hour hit the goal of the game to give Leicester the lead. City had to battle to hold on but hold on they did and claimed a terrific three points.
