Leicester City Woodgate FC

Leicester City Woodgate Inclusive (Disability) Football Club is an affiliated section of Leicester City Ladies F.C. Our Inclusive section is run by volunteers and was formed in 2007. We provide fantastic opportunities for players, youngsters, adults, males and females, with a learning, physical, sensory disability or special need, or mental health issue, to take part in regular football opportunities, whether that be training or matches in a pan disability environment, where the ethos of our football provision is Football, Fun, Fair Play and Respect for All whilst playing a competitive sport.

We have 8 small sided adult male teams, 3 Ladies Teams, 1 Youth & 1 Junior Team. Since 2015-16, we have been identifying and recruiting players who are Partially Sighted to become members of our newly formed – Leicester City Woodgate F.C. Partially Sighted Team.

Overall we have 80 + members of our Inclusive Section.

Football is a great team sport and offers players a great way of having fun, learning new skills, supporting health and well being and increasing social and life skills, all of which help to raise the self esteem of those players involved. Football also provides a great opportunity for players to become a very valued Team and Club member, the benefits and enjoyment of the players is clear to see at Training and League events.

Our Inclusive (Disability) Section has grown into the largest volunteer run Inclusive Club, within the Midlands, if not nationally and our Football Association Charter Standard Community Club accreditation ensures our volunteers have the necessary F.A. Qualifications, 1st Aid trained and have undergone DBS/CRB checks in order to safeguard All of our Members.

We are All very proud of the opportunities that we provide and our reward is seeing the enjoyment all of our players achieve from being involved in football and being a very valued team member.

If you are interested in taking part then please contact us.
