Lions Win Derby Game

In a hard fought local derby the Leicester City Ladies Lions went 2-0 up in the first twenty minutes thanks to “Minty” who scored both, the first from a goal mouth scramble and the second with a fine solo run.
Going two goals behind kicked Leicester City Ladies Tigers into life and they were able to control the game and put pressure on Lions goal only to be hit again when Chloe made the game safe with a third goal just before half time.
Leicester City Ladies Tigers came out all guns blazing in the second half and Kim reduced the deficit with a fine goal capitalising on confusion in the Lions defence to nip between defender and goalkeeper to steal the ball and slot home into the empty net.
The game continued to flow entertainingly from end to end with both goalkeepers being busy with Sadie in the Lions goal making several saves and the Tigers Beth putting in a fine goalkeeping display including a top class penalty save.
Leicester City Lions added goal number four after Jamie prodded the ball home after a scramble in the box to seal the points for the Lions who keep their unbeaten record in the league.
