Leicester City Ladies Tigers started brightly in their under 13s League game at home to Barwell & Burbage United with Shannon seeing two chances narrowly going wide inside the first five minutes.
The defence of Fran, Kim and Lauren for Leicester City Ladies worked well together to turn away the Barwell and Burbage United attacks.
Leicester City Ladies opened the scoring after thirteen minutes when Eva launched a long free kick in to the Barwell and Burbage United half, the ball was well chased by Lacy who crossed to the back post for Jade to fire home.
Beth in the Leicester City Ladies goal raced from her area to clear a dangerous Barwell & Burbage United break.
Both defences were on top in the period leading up to half time, Sabine now on in the Leicester City Ladies defence in particular never gave attackers time to get in a shot.
Five minutes after half time Barwell & Burbage United were on level terms, a scramble in the Leicester City Ladies resulted in a clearance ricocheting off a defenders leg in to the back of the net.
Leicester City Ladies regained the lead five minutes later when a cross from the left hand side was handled in the box and Eva hammered the resulting penalty low to the keepers left.
Fran returned to the pitch for Leicester City Ladies after picking up a nasty nose bleed and put in another solid performance.
Leicester City Ladies now enjoyed their best spell of the game playing some good passing football but either failing to hit the target with the final shot or being denied by the Barwell & Burbage United keeper.
Shannon put in a trademark hard running performance for Leicester City Ladies, chasing every ball and tackling hard.
Leicester City Ladies Sabine, growing in confidence as the game went on, launched a fine attack by releasing Rhea in to space who in turn found Louise who fired a cross for Jade to turn her shot narrowly wide.
Kim lead the Leicester City Ladies defence well, Lauren found Louise in space who created a great chance for Lacy, but the shot went wide.
Lacy was rewarded for her hard work with a goal, converting what was her most difficult chance after being found on the edge of the box by Rhea.
Barwell and Burbage United almost pulled a goal back before the end, but were denied by Beth diving bravely at the feet of the advancing attacker.
Jade picked up the trophy for player of the match for another high energy performance.
