Win Maintains Promotion Chances

Leicester City Ladies were back to league action after two dramatic weeks in cup competitions, unfortunately the penalty roller coaster carried over into the league against Radcliffe Olympic.
It was the perfect start for Leicester City Ladies great wing play from Brant found Bateman in the box and a flicked near post header gave City the lead after only 40 seconds.
Leicester City Ladies then let Radcliffe Olympic back into the game who had chances of their own from the long ball. All square at the
interval however.
Leicester City Ladies started the second half bright and used the ball better. Good set plays were causing trouble at both ends but a very dubious penalty awarded to the home team was saved to keep the game alive.
When Leicester City Ladies did not score they needed their back four who stood strong and more notably their keeper Catt who pulled off a penalty save followed by a one on one double save to one again prove her worth for City.
With Fyfe and Hanarahan in front a clean sheet is more than they deserved and City held on for a vital win.
Overall result more important than performance at this time of the year although City made a lot of the running and deserved to edge the game to set up amazing end of season involved five teams in the promotion race.
